Thanks for your prompt reply. My original patch added the following:

>   { "Philips", 0x0471, "GoGear SA32XX", 0x2031,
DEVICE_FLAG_UNLOAD_DRIVER },

(ignoring evolution's silly line breaks). Is this what you had in mind?
It doesn't seem to do the trick... I have tried other flags, perhaps my
system is in an unsteady state now? I'll reboot later on just to be
sure.
