    Hi,
I have tried to follow snirkel's "howto"to send a calendar.ics to my MicroPhoto without luck. Acutally, the file sends fine but the calendar is not updated on the device. What I did:

    1. Saved my personal calendar as calendar.ics
    2. Used unix2dos like this: unix2dos calendar.ics
    3. Sent the file to device: ./sendfile -f "My Organizer" -t ics calendar.ics

    Output:
    Sending file:
Autodetected device "Creative Zen MicroPhoto" (VID=041e,PID=413c) is known.
    PTP: Opening session
    Connected to MTP device.
    Sending file...
    Progress: 3088 of 3076 (100%)
    PTP: Closing session
    OK.

Everything seems fine but the calendar is not updated on the device. Has anybody succeeded in doing this?

By the way, thanks for libmtp, your work is very appreciated.

    Nic

Did you make sure the any existing .ics files were deleted from that directory first?

        Thanks for your reply.

While trying to delete the files as per your suggestion, I discovered that the calendar file on my MicroPhoto is actually called 6651415.ics and not calendar.ics... hence the problem.

Thus I tried with this file name without deleting the original ics file still using unix2dos first as per my first post. Everything worked perfectly! Looking at the ics files on the device with gnomad2, I could see that the original was still there and the new one as well (both with the same name!). However, only the calendar entries from the last one uploaded were to be found on the device.

Since Evolution saves the calendar file and the tasks separately, I tried uploading a third file called 6651415.ics which contained only the tasks from Evolution. As expected, the tasks appeared on the device, the three files were visible in gnomad2, but I had lost the uploaded calendar entries. I need to find a way to merge the calendar and the tasks into a single ics file.

As for the contacts, the 6651416.vcf file can be imported perfectly into Evolution but the other way around doesn't work yet since the -t vcf is not yet implemented. This would be very appreciated on my part (and probably others as I will write this up into an Howto on the ubuntu forum).

This is remarkable and it seems it could be possible to sync directly from Evolution in the future (I can't code, sorry). I'll try to find if Evolution can merge the tasks and calendar before saving to file but that seems unlikely.

Thanks again for your great work!

        Nic

I then uploaded a task list using the same file name and directory
