QRcode support?

I have no idea how much of the existing libdmtx code would apply to decoding 
QRCode barcodes, but since libdmtx seems to be the only active Free, Open 
Source, Linux-native 2D barcode decoding project going on I figured I'd ask 
about it here.  Is there any chance for QRCode detection and decoding to be 
added to the project?

I keep seeing references to QRCode being used popping up here in the US now - 
most recently Google[1].  

(Conversely - any chance QRcode may falter in the US and be replaced by Data 
Matrix?  I'm beginning to think QRCode has too much momentum for that now, but
who knows?)
