Thanks for the feedback on the fish pricings. To answer a couple of different questions- The criteria for setting the price is wholesale price plus demand/availability. From one purchase to the next for the same animal there can be a lot of fluctuation. I tried the discounting idea with Ctrl-D and it does work, but it makes the receipt look a little confusing with the regular price (which has to be high enough to accommodate all items) and then the discounted price. So the receipt might say something like "Regular price $100, Sale price $2.99. For now I am just creating a unique entry for each item and enter each of them individually. In trying to think about the flow of how another solution might work, this seems like it is probably the bet way to do it. The only issue here is that the unique DB entry remains after the item is gone. Over time, that can be a lot of extra unused entries. It might be nice to have a checkbox on the product entry screen that is labelled "Unique Product", which will result in the entry being deleted from the DB when quantity becomes 0. Joel Wheeler |
