No this file corresponds to the lcd.i just unplugged it and the file wasn't used. Just a little note.Is there any solution via udev? It finds the lcd as a usb device. My main purpose is to have a directory /dev/lcd/ which will create and delete the devices dynamically.that's why i'm using udev. ok forget it for now.can i do something else?nobody ever had this problem in the past? thx michael. --- Michael Reinelt <re...@eu...> wrote: > > > root@devel02:~# modprobe usbserial vendor=0x0403 > > product=0xfc0d > > > root@devel02:~# mknod /dev/ttyUSB0 c 188 0 > > > mknod: `/dev/ttyUSB0': File exists > > What was the previous file which you just deleted? > major/minor number? > Although your command looks fine to me... > > > drv_Crystalfontz.c: dropping garbage byte 11 > > drv_Crystalfontz.c: dropping garbage byte 60 > > ......repeated...... > > Crystalfontz: timeout waiting for response to cmd > 0x01 > > Crystalfontz: display detection failed! > > Okay, this means that the device sends something > which doesnt look like > a response from a 635.... > > what happens if you run the same command, but with > the display *not* > connected? maybe there's any other device which sits > on /dev/ttyUSB0? > > > -- > Michael Reinelt <re...@eu...> > http://home.pages.at/reinelt > GPG-Key 0xDF13BA50 > ICQ #288386781 > __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Hi, > I tried to create a ttyUSB0 according to > http://www.linux-usb.org/usb.devices.txt > but i doesn't work.the kernel doesn't recognise it as > a usb-serial device. Which kernel do you use? Selfmade or from a distribution? Have you got the usb serial modules compiled? When you plug in the display for the first time, are there any modules loaded? try to load the usb-serial module (/lib/modules/2.6.17.1/kernel/drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.ko) and the pl2303.ko module (I suppose that Chrystalfontz use the pl2303 usb-to-serial converter, but I'm not sure) bye, michael -- Michael Reinelt <re...@eu...> http://home.pages.at/reinelt GPG-Key 0xDF13BA50 ICQ #288386781 |

Hello. This is what i have understood yesterday. I tried to create a ttyUSB0 according to http://www.linux-usb.org/usb.devices.txt but i doesn't work.the kernel doesn't recognise it as a usb-serial device. /dev/tts/USB0 or /dev/usb/tts/0 -> i don't have such devices. Moreover i look at the udev rules and i saw the directories where it creates such devices But i don't have such devices. Nobody is using udev? btw suppose that i disable udev,is there any way to know which /dev/ttyUSB*** belongs to which physical device?I tried to use lsusb -v but i cannot get any info from it. So what can i do please?Does any developer watch this mailing list?Sorry for the bothering i just have to find a solution quickly. I hope you can understand it. As far as I know, all Crystalfontz displays use a usb-to-serial converter, so the device major number should be 4. Here with my system, such devices can be found at /dev/tts/USB0 or /dev/usb/tts/0 HTH, Michael -- Michael Reinelt <re...@eu...> http://home.pages.at/reinelt GPG-Key 0xDF13BA50 ICQ #288386781 |

Is there a possibility to get the align attribute dependant on strlen() in a text widget? If I try align 30>25?'M':'L' I get 'M' correctly. If I try align 20>25?'M':'L' I get 'L' correctly. But if I try to use strlen() either directly or with a variable assignement in this comparison, I always get the "false" part as result. I want to get the 'M' only if strlen('Text') > the defined width of the widget. Thanks in advance, Udo |

No, there's none. This display has not been adapted to make use of the keypad widget, probably because all the key handling isn't finished yet. But I think it should be easy to adopt the key handling to the LCM-162. If you can read and rewrite C, take a look at the other drivers that already support this widget, and adopt the code accordingly. As far as I can remember, the key polling is done for the LCM-162, but does nothing but emit a debug message.... bye, Michael --=20 Michael Reinelt <re...@eu...> http://home.pages.at/reinelt GPG-Key 0xDF13BA50 ICQ #288386781 |
