For some reason, the program icons don't appear as I type in Launchy. It just loads the default blank white icon. The only programs whose icons are recognized are those that I've set icons for myself. Everything else just isn't recognized. I've already uninstalled and re-installed Launchy twice.
Here is an example of what it looks like: http://goo.gl/cYIZ
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I'm on Windows 7 using the "LaunchPad" skin (http://artblanc.deviantart.com/art/LaunchPad-160490165).
I tried it with the default skin, and it did the same thing, so it's not that. I already tried rebuilding the shell icon cache with IconPackager (which I'd been previously screwing around with, and suspect that has something to do with this).
Any other suggestions?

What about explorer itself? The start menu might have some kind of caching going on. The weird thing is that Launchy should be using the same methods that the shell does to retrieve icons. Are you on 64 bit?

I'm afraid I'm at a loss and I don't have access to a 64 bit OS which doesn't help matters. Can you see any icons for network machines if you type *\* ?

Launchy doesn't discover anything from network machines (at least not any that I'm connected to, they probably aren't configured for sharing files).
Certain icons (like the ones for help files - that big yellow question mark - and default Windows icons - like that one for "My Computer") load just fine, but the rest for my programs do not.

I also use Launchy on Win7 x64 but the icons display fine. So it's not a 64 bit thing.
Only thing I notice regarding icon is th "slow icon / wrong icon" issue that many others also experienced but if I understood this correct this will be addressed.

Hello,
I am meeting the same issue as owosso.
I use win xp sp2 32bits. The problem appeared after I updated launchy (from 2.1.2 to 2.5.0). Whatever the skin and whatever the called application (on network or not).
I tried to uninstall and reinstall the 2.5, but not better.
I also tried to uninstall 2.5, install 2.1.2 (then I see the icons program), uninstall 2.1.2 (cause the first time I just updated my launchy wihtout uninstalling it first) and finally install 2.5, but still not work…
Who has a new idea ?
Thanks to all of you.

I'm having the same problem here. I did what the previous post said, deleting but the problem hasn't gone away.
I'm using Windows 7 x64, with the Se7en skin (found on Deviantart).
The weird thing is that I can remember Launchy displaying the correct icon for the app that currently is bugging me (Windows Update), for like one or two weeks after installing 2.5. Then, it died.
I haven't changed any system icons or modded my system in any way. I don't know what's going on with this.

Greaaat silverxsparrow ! Your manipulation does work. Indeed, I installed a customed build of launchy few weeks ago and now the problem is fixed.
Thanks.

Odd, what skin are you using and what OS are you on? If XP, it might be worth using TweakUI to rebuild the shell icon cache.

Are your icons OK in explorer?
Another screenshot, for reference. Notice that the FileZilla icon is recognized properly by Windows, but not by Launchy.

Explorer itself still uses the correct icons. I am, indeed, on 64-bit Windows 7.
Anyone? Am I the only one who's ever experienced this problem? T_T
