Thank you. I did a lot of further improvements, which will be part of the 
upcoming Krename 2.7.2 release. To give two examples:
KRename has now two GUI modes, the old wizard style, everyone knows already 
and a new tab mode. See the screenshot:

Sure this is not that important. Maybe we can have a little poll on the ML 
which button is the most used one. But I guess that the the order "Find and 
Replace", "Numbering", "Insert Part of Filename" would be the best. Another 
thing that needs to be changed is the button label "Insert Part of Filename", 
it is IMHO not really descriptive.

You made yourself clear :-). I understand your problem and in your case, it 
would be better to let KRename remove the "$" template before inserting the 
"%". But what shall I do if some one is using the MP3 plugin and wants a 
filename "[artist]-[title]". In this case inserting the [title] token would 
result in removing "[artist]-" and the filename would become only "[title]". 
Another problem is if you just want to number your vacation photos with a 
filename like "photo ##". You will type "photo " in the box and insert two 
"#"'s with the new function dialog. What will happen? The "photo " will be 
removed as soon as a # is added. I hope you see that it is not so easy to 
find a solution. Maybe adding a second button to the function dialog could 
help. One button would be "Add" and the second one would be "Add and delete" 
or something similar.
