Hello to all, I discovered some weeks ago this "super" software and I'm playing since then to "fit" my needs. I have to clarify first that I'm an absolute cd-writer beginner, so sorry for any "poor" question. I've some troubles that I'd like to solve with your help, to avoid using other software that I consider not so nice. First of all, I downloaded the src rpm for 1.1.0 version (it should be the last one...) and I rebuilded & installed it. I have this main problem :I'm not able at all to use "cd-copy" feature for data cdrom, while it works very fine for audio cd (!!). When I click on "write-cd" button , the program display the msg:"read process died", so that the source cd is not read !!! Since for me is not so clear if source data cd must be mounted or not (??), i tried both solution, but none works :-( . My scsi default setting (I'm using ide-scsi emulation module) is: cdwriter ID:1 Philips pcrw 804 cdrom ID:0 LG cdrom CRD8332B Thanks for all can help me, in any case this is a great program !! Hi! KreateCD 1.1.0 was released. This is the first stable version since KreateCD 1.0.0. It has major new features and will be the last version for KDE 2.x which adds additional features. There might be bug fix released, but the main development already is for KDE 3. CHANGES SINCE 1.0.0 =================== - support for on the fly copy - improved audio options dialog - new, improved user interface - different project types - Ogg vorbis support - Solaris au format support - displays fifo buffer and total percentage while burning - kreatecd should be more portable now - track edit actions can now be cancelled. DOWNLOAD ======== Source tarballs: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/kreatecd/kreatecd-1.1.0.tar.bz2 http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/kreatecd/kreatecd-1.1.0.tar.gz SuSE RPMs: (packaged by Niels Reedijk) http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/kreatecd/kreatecd-1.1.0-2.suse72.src.rpm http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/kreatecd/kreatecd-1.1.0-2.suse72.i386.rpm http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/kreatecd/kreatecd-au-plugin-1.1.0-2.suse72.i386.rpm http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/kreatecd/kreatecd-mp3-plugin-1.1.0-2.suse72.i386.rpm http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/kreatecd/kreatecd-vorbis-plugin-1.1.0-2.suse72.i386.rpm http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/kreatecd/kreatecd-wav-plugin-1.1.0-2.suse72.i386.rpm ABOUT THE SUSE RPMs =================== These RPM's are stripped from any junk, so they're fast, clean and easy. Say, when you write bug-reports, that you are using the SuSE packages. These packages are built for SuSE 7.2, although they _may_ work on earlier versions (I cannot guarantee Forward Compatibility), as well as other distributions. You need the following packages: cdrecord, mkisofs, cdda2wav, cdparanoia In case you want to burn audio cd's from the followin file formats: - wav - au - mp3 - ogg/vorbis You need to install the wav-plugin. Furtermore you need: - for mp3: mpg123 - for ogg/vorbis: libogg libvorbis You can find these packages on the SuSE installation CD's. If you experience any problems with the packages, notify me , I can see what I can do. Niels Reedijk <ni...@kd...> Alexander Feigl |

You''ll have to enable "SCSI emulation" in your Linux kernel. All IDE CD-ROMs and burners can be used as they where SCSI devices if SCSI emulation is enabled. KreateCD was not tested with DVD drives - I cannot tell you whether they work or not. Alexander |

The mp3 plugin needs "mpg123". If this was not installed when compiling kreatecd, the mp3 plugin probably was not compiled. You should have 2 files which have a mp3 in their filename in the directory /usr/share/apps/kreatecd/plugins (for KDE prefix /usr) Alexander |

Discovered Kreatecd today while browsing freshmeat and installed it on my Slackware8/kde2.2 system. I liked the features and it was easy to use (much less clutter than xcdroast). For my first project i burned my *.ogg files on-the-fly and it worked out fine. No bugs yet, i will test some more and report any. The only glitch was with the install. With kde-2.2 i have to set-up links in /opt/kde-2.2/lib to point to the new lib*.so.3.0.0 files since make uses lib*.so but kde2.2 uses lib*.so.3 links e.g. > ln -s libkfile.so.3.0.0 libkfile.so etc. for libksycoca libkio libkdeui libkdecore libDCOP(1.0.0) libkdesu(1.0.0) libkssl(2.0.2) Can this be fixed in the Makefile? |
