Is that enough? I'll try to implement it. JoJo |

Hi! I think we can release 1.0.0 now. As Marcel's problem was the old libpng one everything is ready. I'm uploading the generic source tarballs now. Niels can upload the SuSe RPMs (according to the new naming sheme I suggested on this list - with Release set to 1suse) As soon as these packages are completed we can announce 1.0.0 Alexander -- Linux is like a Wigwam : no Gates, no Windows but an Apache inside My Homepage : http://www.moondream.de KreateCD Homepage : http://www.kreatecd.de |

Hi, after MP3 can be handled by kreatecd, how about supporting ogg/vorbis (free sound compression with similar to better results than MP3)? Regards, JoJo |

And we cannot add a option now because message texts are frozen and this would trigger a retranslation. I think we have to leave this as it is - for 1.0.0. We might add a known problem item in the release notes. We need a backtrace for the crashing Qt version. I think it is the old libpng problem with SuSe. Alexander |

Hi! Did everybody test the tarballs I created? Results? I think we should wait for Marcel's backtrace and/or try to run it with current qt-copy versions. After that we can release the tarballs. I found a way to fix the image creation by adding the option "-no-rr" to the mkisofs call. The first session on my CDR was written using Nero on Windoof, so I don't know if the ISO-image is built correctly importing a session written by cdrecord. Patch against current CVS is attached. You should at least add an option for setting "-no-rr" if you don't want to set it permanently. Hi, I experienced some problems using kreatecd (head branch 2001-03-05). 1. Kreatecd works together with QT2.2.3, but not with QT2.2.4 (recommended for KDE 2.1!) and 3.0beta1 from qt-copy. Everything compiles fine, but then simply crashes on startup. 2. Multisession support doesn't work. With an old session imported the ISO-image can't be created. Without the session imported everything is fine. The "Add" button in ISO-tree doesn't work, DND does ;-)= OK, that's all for now. Regards JoJo |

Hi! I've created tarballs of the 1.0.0 release. Please test them and prepare packages. Set the Release line of the .spec file to: Release: 1suse <-for SuSe RPM Release: 1col <-for Caldera Open Linux Release: 1mdk <-for Mandrake As soon as the tarball is tested and the RPM packages are prepared we can make the release. Tarball URL: http://www.moondream.de/bin/kreatecd-1.0.0.tar.gz Thanks to all who helped to finish this release Alexander -- Linux is like a Wigwam : no Gates, no Windows but an Apache inside My Homepage : http://www.moondream.de KreateCD Homepage : http://www.kreatecd.de |

Will do some simple checks, then tag and prepare the tarball. IMPORTANT: Set your Release number in the spec file to 1suse We get kreatecd-1.0.0-1suse.src.rpm kreatecd-1.0.0-1suse.i386.rpm as filenames - which we need to distinguish between different distributions Alexander -- Linux is like a Wigwam : no Gates, no Windows but an Apache inside My Homepage : http://www.moondream.de KreateCD Homepage : http://www.kreatecd.de |

Hi! We should add mpg123 to the requirements (as optional, needed for mp3 support). Can you do this in your doc. Hi! What is the release status? Is the doc nearly finished? If not, me might have to revert the last update to the half-finished version. I'm just commiting some last-minute fixes for --enable-final compilation and checking a bug report concerning mp3. Sounds like mpg123 was not detected correctly but I wait for a quick reply Alexander -- Linux is like a Wigwam : no Gates, no Windows but an Apache inside My Homepage : http://www.moondream.de KreateCD Homepage : http://www.kreatecd.de |

Hi! What is the current status of the doc and the nl po file? As we have the release very soon I'm getting a little bit nervous :) I currently do packaging for Mandrake - although we will be 1-2 days too late to be included in their next beta we can offer SRPMS/RPMS for Mandrake 8.0 beta. As soon as I get a Mandrake 7.2 we can offer Mdk 7.2 packages Alexander -- Linux is like a Wigwam : no Gates, no Windows but an Apache inside My Homepage : http://www.moondream.de KreateCD Homepage : http://www.kreatecd.de |

Hi As there will be serveral different Distributions for which KreateCD will be packaged - we should use a naming that provides unique file names for every distribution. We should add a distribution abbreviation to the release number in the spec file. Simply renaming is not good - as we get the original file name when someone rebuilds the package. We would get SRPMS like this: kreatecd-1.0.0-1suse.src.rpm kreatecd-1.0.0-1col.src.rpm (Caldera Open Linux) kreatecd-1.0.0-1mdk.src.rpm (Mandrake) and similar Opinions? And it should really be almost impossible that this patch breaks anything. I'll make some new screenshots of kreatecd - they are a little bit outdated.
