Hi Folks, here is a little hack to compile kreatecd-1.1.0 with kde3. It's a little bit of work to get it all right, but it seems to work. Burning out of a konquerer view seems not to work. Don't know why. Have fun. Would be nice to have autoconf and automake compatible with kde3 requirements. Who out there has experience with this. I don't have any. Theo |

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi All, I really like KreateCD a lot and have been using it often for a year or more now. Simple and uncluttered, yet powerful, just the way I like it. I found a small problem when compiling with the latest CVS checkout of KDE however. The QFile::encodeName() function accepts a QString and returns a QCString that holds the Unicode compatible version of the temporary directory. Unfortunately, the CDTrack::createName() function attempts to store the returned QCString as a "const char *". I'd like to help maintain and improve KreateCD, so I can prepare a patch, but wanted to know who I should sent it too. So I guess my question is where is the proper place to do this. The sourceforge project, or the kdeextragear-1 area for KDE itself? Thanks, Randy -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE995xn9OOSVYFT6BQRAgxnAKDdlh4K0zm6MVlGgk9j3ddQ3xG3PACfQZrz IDbKMy1wm5f0EGCnzW4SVcE= =4RNa -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Hi, I have been trying to compile kreatecd from the latest CVS source, as I want to make some changes to the code for my own use. However, I can't get the configure script to work. I don't have the output from config.log with me right now (I'm at work) but from memory, it was trying to locate the "querystyles.h" library and was unable to. Fair enough, because it doesn't exist in qt2.2, although it seems to be present in qt3. I am wondering if kreatecd can still be compiled under kde 2.0.0/qt2.2 or if later versions of these libs are required. (I had an earlier version of the source which did not come from CVS, this compiled no problem.) On another note, I have not contributed to an OSS project before, but if I come up with a half decent improvement or fix, how can I get it implemented into kreatecd? Thanks, Tony -------------------------------------------------------------------------- This e-mail message has been scanned for Viruses and Content and cleared. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Hi! There is a minor redesign in kreatecd code to remove the dependency of=20 compiled-in paths and other configuration stuff which was compiled in. So= me=20 of these changes are local changes at the moment and not yet commited to = the=20 CVS. My local version has all app-checking removed from configure - it is much= =20 cleaner now. The rootwrapper doesn't work at the moment. I (or somebody e= lse)=20 has to write a KDE config file parser to read the rootwrapper config file= =20 without linking kdelibs code. (anybody willing to do this). There is no configuration code for the rootwrapper yet. There are 2=20 possibilities: 1) configure rootwrapper if kreatecd is started as root 2) create some small configuration tool to configure the rootwrapper (com= mand=20 line?) Alexander Feigl |

Hi KreateCD is now in the KDE CVS kdemultimedia/kreatecd. The CVS on sourceforge shouldn't be used anymore to avoid merging problems. The mailing list and bugfix packages will still be hosted, but the all new development will take place in KDE's CVS. I've just imported KreateCD there. Kind regards Joseph Wenninger |

Hi! I made some internal changes to the plugin loading code: - plugin stuff moved from AudioFileFormat into PluginHandler - better support for compiled in plugins - support other plugin types - project import plugins are planned (like the .cue project import plugin - which would be needed by vcd mod= ule) - easy to iterate through - get plugin classes directly if we know the unique name When the plugin code is more matured we can check if we switch the GUI pl= ugins=20 to the new code. We might have to do further changes to the PluginHandler= to=20 do this. You have to recompile and install your plugins when you did a cvs update = after=20 you received this mail. Moin, here's my idea of a WritingDialog (attached bzip2'ed .ui) The pixmap-space is meant to just show the cd-burner-icon of kde to make = the=20 dialog a bit less boring :) I don't want that thingy to be something stupid like an animation, we don= 't=20 have to make kreatecd look like windoze-apps tend to look like :) More ideas: Option to _not_ close the WritingDialog, especially helpful on errors. I'd even tend to explicitely leave the window open if an error occured. T= he=20 user would be able to copynpaste possible errors out of the advanced-view= =2E Let the fileviews use either a widget from konq (not sure if that is poss= bile=20 already) or at least use mimeType-icons provided by kde-classes. Hi I'm rewriting the view management nearly completely at the moment. What will be the result: 1) most things will use kactions than 2) the tracklist manager will only provide some convenience functions ontop of the CDPRoject 3) all Project Types/ Edit Modes will be managed by the main window. 4) It will be possible to create edit views as plugins. Please, all which want to commit non trivial things, which are main window GUI related, or tracklistmanager related, please wait a few (2 or 3) days, so that all this can happen without major merging conflicts. On the fly would be nice, but this needs some changes on the vcdimager side too. At the moment I thought about creating the cue/bin thing and tell the CD Project to use it. Would it be a design flaw, or can I just add a methode setCueBin(Cuefilename, BinFilename) and hand those files directly to the cdrdao call on write, instead of creating our own tracklist ?
