This is Mandrake 10, kprof-1.4.2
Tried to look at a very large gprof output (> 3Mb).
The kprof window froze and in 15 minutes never re-painted.
My CPU meter redlined the whole time.
Finally I closed the window (KDE said the application
wasn't
responding to the close window signal, so I had to kill
it.)
Assuming this wasn't just a crash of some sort...
the computational work shouldn't be done in the same
application thread as the window drawing. And it would
be very nice to have some sort of progress dialog.

Here's the gprof output from a small run of our program.
It chokes Kprof. (Actually, one sees a process called 'dot'
redlining.)
gprof.2.out.gz: chokes kprof
