    Hey, thanks for your bug reports. What KPlayer version are we talking about? If it's 0.7, then please compile the current CVS from SourceForge and try to reproduce the crash. When testing, please run KPlayer from under gdb. Run KPlayer under gdb with "r --nofork". If you can reproduce this or any other crash, I would like to see the output from gdb commands like bt, i lo, etc.

    Wow, bz2 got it down to 5% of its original size ...

    Okay I've compiled it from CVS and reproduced the crash(Umm, something along the lines of open the player, start playing a video, click on the X) I've never used gdb before, ever, at all, so please forgive my ignorance
    and set me straight as necessary :)

    First run (no gdb):
    kplayer.log - regular debugging output that it prints to stderr
    kplayer-cvs.kcrash - saved from the kcrash dialog

    Second run (yes gdb)
    kplayer-cvs-gdb.log - saved konsoles scrollback after running gdb seeing as I couldn't figure out how to redirect its output to a log file :\ File Added: kplayer_crash.tar.bz2

    I get the same thing, using the latest 0.7 Kubuntu Intrepid package. Every time I play something and then close the application. It doesn't happen when I just run it and close it right away without playing anything.

    Here's the kcrash backtrace:

    When I run it from the command line, it just says there:

    Application 'kplayer' crashing...
    sock_file=/home/martin/.kde/socket-martin-laptop/kdeinit4__0

    Hi, I am willing to help with debugging this. Output of which gdb commands after the crash do you need?

  • Jakub Januszkiewicz

    I've tried the latest revision from CVS yesterday and it doesn't crash for me anymore.
