I have downloaded the Keka application and upon opening the DMG file, the icons to my compressed files automatically associate to Keka without permission or executing the Keka app.

What version did you've downloaded? Current versions do not register by default.

Note that from 1.1.0 version, Keka alone can't be set as the default application for any format. You should either set it within the "Get Info" panel in Finder or installing a helper for Keka.

So I really don't know what heppened here.
