Dominik, I've added a bit to the Security section of the Help. I thought about adding it to the additional FAQ, but security seems correct to me.

cheers, Paul

Features Time Fields and Entry Attachments

KeePass supports time fields: creation time, last modification time, last access time and expiration time.
You can attach files to password entries (useful to store PGP signature files in KeePass for example).
  • [2.x] KeePass has a powerful internal viewer for text files, images and documents. You don't even need to export attached files to view them! See the section on viewer security in the Help (http://keepass.info/help/base/security.html#secattachviewer)

The built-in editor/viewer stores the data being viewed in memory.

Files the built-in editor/viewer cannot handle (e.g. PDF files), will be extracted to a (EFS-encrypted) temporary file and opened using the default application for this file type. After finishing viewing/editing, the user can choose between importing or discarding any changes made to the temporary file. In any case, KeePass afterwards securely deletes the temporary file (including overwriting it).
