Hi,
We migrated to KeePass 2.x from a different password manager. That product, like KeePass, allowed users to store Notes for Groups. It's interface though, displayed the Group Notes whenever a Group was selected. We use the Group for systems where we have several passwords for the system. We also use the password manager to store Notes about those systems. With KeePass it is inconvenient to view Notes for a Group, because you have the do the whole "select, right click, choose "Edit Group..."" thing (and then close the group edit when done).
We would find it convenient if KeePass 2.x would use the Entry View panel (see attached "KeePass Folder Notes.png") to display the Notes associated with a Folder Node when a Folder Node is selected in the Tree panel on the left.
The KeePassEnhancedEntryView plug-in may need to be updated if this change is made.
cheers, Paul
Actually, my first thought was that KPEEV would be the place to implement this functionality, but then I changed my mind. Group data is an under-utilized feature of KeePass, and this is most likely because getting to it is so difficult - and not easily discoverable.
I've implemented this now. When no entry is selected in the entry list of the main window, the details view now displays information of the current group (name, expiry time, tags, notes).
Here's the latest development snapshot for testing:
