Add option to lock KeePass with sub-dialogs are open
A lightweight and easy-to-use password manager

I understand the issues with locking KeePass while subdialoges lite the edit or create dialog is open.
Being a fault human user it's not uncommon for me to start a new entry, switch context/windows and then forgetting about it. That's my fault completely, but I would like to be able to help KeeyPass help me with my password security by enabling me myself to tell KeePass to force close and if it should ignore or save the changes.
This would make KeePass a much more secure tool for me as a user, I'd gladly pay for this with the risk of losing changes or saving unwanted changes.
And regards to saving unwanted changes, couldn't this be solved by an option to store latest x revisions of an entry? Or to just save the state of edit in database as an entity of its own that you can review the next time you open the database?
This feature won't be added. See the Why doesn't KeePass lock while a sub-dialog is open?. This is a design decision.
The programatic solutions are complex to implement and to use. (You haven't considered all possible scenarios).
Don't allow yourself to get distracted when you start something important. If something urgent comes up, press the OK button (the original entry will be preserved in the entry's history), or the Cancel button and come back to the entry later.

I very much prefer KeePass over what I used for years (1Password). But this is a big problem for me not experienced with 1Password.
You guessed correctly: I have forgotten to save and subsequently lost new edits in the other app. But IMO losing some new edits is much better than having my entire life and business viewable because I forgot to close a window. I am human, like the OP :) Computers were invented to exceed human limitations.
Re: the FAQ pointed to, please reconsider. If the program 'auto-saved', thereby creating a specified number of sequential backups, lost data would be minimized. It's perhaps one of the only things that worked to our liking in 1Password :)
And of course, having this a switchable/defeatable feature gives the user a choice.
Please, please reconsider. I love KeePass and want to continue using it.
