I use KeePass also to store "security question" answers, so it would be convenient if I could generate those directly in that dialog instead of switching back and forth.
By "that dialog", I assume you mean the "Edit Entry String Field" box. The best you can do right now is to open the Password Generator, adjust the settings as needed, switch to the Preview tab, select and copy one of the generated passwords, click "Cancel" (not "OK"; that will change the password field of the selected record, or create a new record if none is selected), edit the field in question, and paste the newly generated password in.

You can open the password generator from, and add a password to string field using the KPEhancedEntryView plugin.
it needs to be done without plugins.
