I think the sum total of everyone's ideas can be expressed by a something added to
"tools" "options" (possibly in the "intergration" panel)
have a radio button group titled DEFAULT DATABASE:
x Last file closed
x Last file opened
x All files closed at last exit
x User specified filename:_______________________________________________

How about, on opening KeePass, restoring all databases that where in use when exiting.

I think you only need 3 options.
x Last file opened
x File(s) open when KeePass is closed
x User specified filename:________________________________Browse button
