On a windows 10 computer KeePass doesn't work for any saved websites. It gives an Unsupported Pattern error. The web browser that the computer is using is IE 11. Any ideas?

For non web browser entries KeePass still works.

IE 11 under Windows 10 works perfect for me with KeePass 2.34

KeePass 2.34 auto-type works fine for me with IE11 on Windows 10.

    • Have you tried entering a test username & password on the test page http://keepass.info/help/kb/testform.html?
    • How are you using KeePass to enter usernames and passwords into web pages?
      • Are you using auto-type, a form filler, or some other method?
      • If you are using auto-type are you using the global auto-type hotkey (default Ctrl+Alt+A) or Perform Auto-Type (Ctrl+V)?
    • What is raising the error? e.g. KeePass, IE 11, a plugin?
      • When does it happen?
      • What is the exact wording? (a screenshot might be helpful).

    I am using default Ctrl+Alt+A.
As soon as Ctrl+Alt+A is used an error on KeePass pops up with the error.

What version of KeePass 2.x are you using?

I am able to auto-type into UMACHA login page without error using Ctrl+Alt+A using KeePass 2.34, Windows 10, and IE 11. I get the UMACHA Invalid Login or Password message.

Since auto-type works outside of IE I suggest you try to characterize the problem in greater detail:

    1. Determine if the problem exists in IE on different web pages e.g. other pages that you use frequently, or http://keepass.info/help/kb/testform.html. If the problem exists only on some web pages in IE, then try to isolate the issue to the particular web page or KeePass entry:
      1. Check to see if the web page/entry problem is associated with unusual characters in your password.
      2. Check to see if the web page/entry problem is associated with an unusual/invalid auto-type sequence.
      3. If there is are no errors in the entry and you are not sending unusual characters, then the problem is probably related to the website or an IE addon.
    2. Determine if KeePass exhibits the same problem on the same web pages in different browsers e.g. Firefox or Chrome. If the problem goes away then it is most likely caused by IE or an addon.
      1. Try disabling all addons (if any) in IE
      2. Try disabling all plugins (if any) in KeePass by shutting down KeePass, move all plugins to a temporary folder on your desktop and restart KeePass. Verify that no plugins are listed in 'Tools>Plugins...'.
    3. If you are not using the most recent version of KeePass upgrade to the current version (currently 2.34). Check if the problem goes away.

If the problem is not associated with a particular browser, or web site, or browser addon, or KeePass plugin, then the problem may be associated with OS or one of its subsystem e.g. Microsoft .NET

    1. Reboot your computer and check if the problem is fixed.
    2. Try repairing and/or reinstalling the installable portions of .NET.
      1. To repair see https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2698555
      2. To uninstall/reinstall see https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-remove-and-reinstall-the-Microsoft-NET-Framework.html

    Is your Auto-Type sequence corrupt?
    Duplicate the problematic entry and change the sequence to {USERNAME}

    cheers, Paul
