Hi folks—I have (for example) an entry in KeePass called Firefox. On an occassion I might be using the Firefox browser and when invoking global auto-type this entry comes up as an entry no matter what (perhaps because the window title name has Firefox in it no matter what page I'm browsing?).

Is there a workaround?

Yes, rename the entry. Try something like "FireFox Browser".
