Is there a way to create different column names for each group?
I'm using 5 different groups. For example Banking and Internet. In Banking I need a column for my bankaccount number, in Internet I'm using the default settings.
I know how to change the column names, but then all groups are changed.

    Greetings
    Chris

No, column settings are for the entire view.
I get around that by using KPEnhancedEntryView. This shows all fields including custom ones.

    cheers, Paul

I tried that already, but it is not really working for me.
Would be really nice to get it as a real feature.
I think it's a must have. Using different groups for different typs of passes only makes sense with different columns for each group.

    Greetings
    Chris

It is probably not feasible to remember column display settings for different groups for several reasons a few of which are:

    • Many if not most displays span multiple groups (e.g. when 'Show Entries of Subgroups' is checked, or after a search).

    • View settings are saved in the Workspace not the database, and the Workspace can display many different databases. It is impractical to be remember and manage all the 'group' view settings for multiple databases. Saving the view settings in the database would require a database format change.

Per Paul's recommendation: your best bet is the KPEnhancedEntryView plugin.

Re. multi-group - some users use those features often, but many others, like me, rarely do. Instead of searching, I rely on groups to quickly find what I need. For web passwords, which is the majority, the browser extension takes care of finding the entry. I only use the Keepass app for 1) credit cards, 2) miscellaneous passwords like RDP, SQL, and I don't have many of those, no need for search. Still even for multi-group displays, just revert to global setting; zero negative impact on existing users, while vastly improving the credit card user experience.

Re. storage, to prevent having to alter the database format, which I can imagine is difficult, why not add workspace configuration which stores column configuration by folder using some kind of a "dictionary" (hashtable)? For example, "/Internet" -> [ "C1", "C2" ]
