valid formats of .keyx key file

    hello, thanks for a great forum and all the volunteers

    the default format is .keyx format is

    </data>

    i changed it to the following and keepass accepts this, please to confirm this format is ok to use?

    I hope that isn't your actual key file. If it is you just posted your database secret, so you should change it.

    If both key files open the database then KeePass can tolerate the modification. However, reformatting the secret doesn't improve security. If there is not a good reason to edit the .keyx file you are asking for trouble.

    I have tested an original key and the same key data without the white space, per your modification. Both files open the database.

    The reason the format is 8 characters and a space is to make reconstruction from a printed backup easy.
