This is the error message I receive when I try to initiate a sync from the laptop to the application flashkey. Please help me overcome this, so I can keep the two databases synced.

Please provide additional information. What is the flashkey application? What kind of device does it run on? How are you using it with KeePass?

KeePass policies are listed in Tools>Options>Policy(tab). Most users will have all policies checked. If the Save Database policy is not checked KeePass can't perform a synchronization. Note: KeePass has to be restarted after changing a policy.

The flashkey has portable Keepass on it, using the same update of 2.48.1 (64 bit) as the one on the laptop. The master password is the same. The flashkey is a Cruzer Glide 16 GB. I use it to keep a synced copy to take with me when I am not with my laptop so I can open it in another computer and see my passwords. Example, when I travel to visit my daughter and do not take my laptop.

I'm sorry for the duplicate posts. I don't know how to get rid of them.

    Close KeePass on the laptop.
Open KeePass from the flash key. Make sure it isn't trying to open the database from the laptop.
If it opens the flash database, sync to the laptop database.

Or just copy the database from the laptop to the flash key.
To find the database, see the Backup Wiki.

    cheers, Paul

I found the policy items and discovered the Import box was not checked. Since the error message mentioned that the policy flag Import was needed, I checked the box. The sync from flashdrive to laptop seemed to work, but how can I confirm that it did without checking each entry? Thanks.

If you do not receive additional error messages then other policies are not preventing sync. Note: disallowing saving will block synchronization.

To verify that synchronization is working you only need to check one entry. Make a change in one entry in one database of your synchronization pair. After synchronization, the change should appear in both copies of your database.
