    Hello everyone,
I am using Kee Pass 2.35 Professional edition. I find that when I use the program my computer starts to slow down tremendously. After I restart my computer, my computer runs smoothly until I start up Kee Pass 2.35 again. I have searched on google and I can't find any reports of Kee Pass or any password manager slowing down a computer. Do any of you have any suggestions? Do you think installing and using Kee Pass 1.32 Classic edition instead of 2.35 would help?

    Thank you for your time.

I can see no reason for KeePass to slow your computer down, unless you have a very large database that consumes all your memory.
Does your computer speed up if you close KeePass?
How much memory/CPU does KeePass use? Run Task Manager to find out.
    How big is your database?

    cheers, Paul

Thank you for the reply Paul. I don't think my database is very large at all. I'd say maybe 25 entries. Even if I close KeePass my computer still runs rather sluggish. I think it's a bit better but it is not it's usual self until I restart the computer. Before I created this topic my computer was very slow and I was considering getting a new computer. I did a little research and then I went to command prompt and used the defrag c: /R function. That helped tremendously. But after I ran KeePass it slowed down again. Thankfully a simple restart has restored it to it's faster state. I am hesitant to run KeePass again until I solve this but of course I often need my passwords so I hope I can find a solution soon. Is it possible that KeePass is fragmenting my c: drive? I'd have to check to see how much memory/CPU Keepass uses and to see exactly how big my database is. I don't want to right now because it takes time to run it, experience the slow down and then restart my computer. But I will soon enough since I need those passwords and when I do I'll be sure to get back to you. Thanks again.

Sounds like you computer needs a bit of maintenance, not KeePass causing problems.
You should start with a virus scan - do you have an anti virus program?
What does Task Manager say about your computer memory and CPU usage?
How much disk space do you have free?

    cheers, Paul

Just a similar note. Never noticed this prior to 2.35.

I don't see anything like that on my W8 box - see screen shot.
Is it always using lots of CPU?
Are you running plug-ins? Try without.
    How large is your database?
Does it happen with a new database?

    cheers, Paul

Thank you Paul so much for all of your assistance. You seem to be a prominent good samaritan around here. I really appreciate your help. It looks like Keepass wasn't the problem at all. I switched anti virus programs, deleted the adobe pdf reader and icloud, ran another CHKDSK c: /R and now my computer is running a lot better. I'm looking at my processes right now and Keepass is taking 0% CPU/Disk/Network and only 20.1 MB of memory. I am so pleased and Paul, you helped me realize that Keepass wasn't the culprit.

RJ-O I don't know what to say, except I recommend you heed Paul's advice since I believe he knows what he's talking about. Good luck!
