Just rebuilt a windows 7 PC and installed keepass2 (tried several versions) and get this messag. I use the same database (stored in dropbox) on 4 other PCs (Win 7 & win 10) with no problems. Now I'm getting this msg on this newly rebuilt WIN 7 PC. Never got it on the other PCs. Help - what am I missing? Been using KP2 for many years w/o problems.
    Thx in advance.

The Microsoft/SysInternals procMon.exe utility is your friend as it will tell you the failed file and registry access problems that keepass.exe is having.
    choco install sysinternals

    https://chocolatey.org/packages/sysinternals

    Thx Robert:
OK I ran the pgm & found these lines in the listing - but not a clue what they mean!

KeePass can't locate / open the file. Try copying the file manually to the PC and opening. If that works your issue is comms to Dropbox, which is not a KeePass issue.

Your Procmon screen shot shows a LNK. This is not a KeePass database.

    cheers, Paul

p.s. there is no need to install any of the Sysinternals software from chocolatey - they do not need installing at all. Download them direct from Microsoft.

OK - not sure what happened - copied the DB to a stick - opened it on the old pc where KP worked & it opened fine. Took the stick to new PC & it also opened fine.
Recopied it to the DropBox folder & also OK. Made changes & let it sync to old PC & opened OK
All seems to be fine - No idea why.
    Thanks for your input.
