Keepass 0.97b won't open URL's on a double-click. System crashes when attempting to do so.

I haven't had any problems with any past versions, and I use Win 2K.

Extra options that may or may not be necessary.  Keepass is a sound program for managing passwords in general - you have your database/key.  Why would you need to open URL's with keepass?

Can you not keep your favorites on your USB drive or another secure location?

I have been using keepass Version 1 for some time, working as i need.
It's on a Windows 10 PC version 18362.476. I have been putting off upgrading, but finally did so a couple of weeks ago. Opens up without issue, but on saving or closing keeppass V2.43 I get teh BSOD, or as they call it now "Opps Something Went Wrong" screen. (Stupid Name!)
The cause is a stop Code SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION and the file that failed is cldflt.sys. this happend every time.
My windows is fully patched, and there are no outstanding patches to apply. Any ideas what is causing this and what if any remedies?
I have removed and re-installed Keepass V1.37 and this works a treat, except not of course I can't access the upgraded file s I've created a new oe, and saved and exited, without any issues

Ayn assistance would be gratefully accepted.

It is an MS bug. https://sourceforge.net/p/keepass/bugs/1891/
Use KeePass V2.38 until it is resolved.

    cheers, Paul

p..s. You can use the online version of KeeWeb if you just need to access your passwords and are having trouble / don't have KeePass to hand.

Microsoft is responsible for fixing it.

Have you followed our advice to use V2.38?

    cheers, Paul

Absolutely not Microsoft, but the author of this app.
This app crashes everything, not Windows itself.

We have no reports of crashes except after the latest Windows patches.

If you have other issues I suggest you open a new ticket and list exactly what and when you are having problems.

    cheers, Paul

Lot's of people wrote here about crashing because of Keepass app.

All application should be adapted to all versions of Windows in advance, testing Windows beta versions.

This is the only 1 app that crashes the Windows. I'm using dozens apps but only Keepass crashes my computer. It's weird, isn't it?
That's why it's obvious that it's not the problem of WIndows but this app.
Dozens or hundreads people reported this problem here.

TO be honest - this app looks like the app from the previous century, and this is the second argument it doesn't fit current time requirement.

You should stop your not helpful postings.
Your didn't pay for KeePass and no one forces you to use it
      if you are not satisfied.

Many people shoud do the same as me, because many people encounter problems, lost time and money.
They and many others also should stop not helpful posting?

Being silent doesn't solve the problem, especially now when the author is telling that this is not his problem.

I'm writing on behalf of dozens of thousand people around the world.
All of they waste time and money because of Keepass crashes. Many people use this app in big companies.
This is not fun. This is a big and serious problem. I lost one keepass database through Keepass crashes.
Yes. you can say "don't use it this app".
    Exactly.
If the author of this app shared this app on the Internet then he should have think it over much better. This is a big responsibiliti sharing the app for the whole world.

Now this app author is responsible for wasting lots of money by people acros the globe.
He should work day and night to fix this problem.
    This is his fault.

Being illiterate about how computers work does not solve it either.

The issue has already been explained to you.
That you refuse to listen does not make you right

A solution has been provided for you.
That you refuse it does not make you right

You are just making an embarrassing show of how little you understand and how entitled you are as a person.

If you lost your Database because of a KeePass crash that is your fault for not having redundancy. If you lack simple computer skill of copying a file, you are running a risk when working with concepts above your skill level.

Funny you bring up responsibilities from a person that did not take the responsibilities to even make a backup

The file that is crashing your system is from one drive

So please take you whining over to microsoft and have them fix their ClouD FiLTer driver aka cldflt.sys.
Amazing what 5 mins of ressearch can do vs whining as en entitled baby on a forum.

The only place where users of KeePass can get support is via this forum.

You have quoted of problems reported by a number of users using an unknown (to me) and unrelated forum, which does not help your case. If those users have problems they should post here where there issue can be addressed by the volunteers and the author. They are wasting their own time moaning about issues somewhere else.

You have no evidence of "dozens of thousand people around the world" having problems. There are a small number who have posted related issues on this forum who have been informed that it appears to be caused by a Microsoft bug,or at least an unpublished change in behaviour of an existing interface associated with the use of One Drive in the Microsoft provided system file cldflt.sys. It is likley that the other programs on your system doi not call functions that invoke this file which is why you only see it when using KeePass.

Paul has suggested that you revert to an earlier version while this issue is resolved. Have you tried this out?

Dominic is adept at finding workarounds for bugs in other software He is however the sole developer and maintainer of KeePass and I am sure he must have other commitments. He may not even be able to replicate your scenario on his systems to enable him to diagnose your issue. There is no team capable of working day and night to fix the problem.

If you can offer additional diagnostic information to assist in the investigation that would be appreciated and would benefit all of us. Making impossible, or unachievable, demands on fixing issues in free open source software is not going to provide you with a solution.

If you do not like the support you are getting here (from upaid volunteers) then you should move to an alternative program.
