I do hope someone can help me with my problem. Today I tried to open a .kbdx-file which I used 3 months ago. When entering the password I get an error message that you can see in the attached file.
It translates to "The file's signature is invalid. This means that the file is corrupted and/or not a file that KeePass can read."
I already tried using the repair functionality but without success. Are there any means to recover from this error? Or can I provide you with more information to get help?
The file you are attempting to open is corrupt / not a KeePass database and cannot be recovered.
You need to find a backup of the database and try to open that.
Where is the file stored, USB? These can be unreliable.

Hi Paul, thank you for your kind reply. Well this sucks..
Do you have an idea how this could happen? I did not store it on a removable drive, but initially copied it from one. I am not sure if I opend it after the copy process. So I guess there is the possibility that it was already corrupted when the copying finished?
Cheers Rolf

Do you still have the original drive? Maybe the file is still there?
Having at least one backup on a reliable medium, or in the cloud, is the only guarantee.
