There doesn't seem to be a pattern for why they don't work. For instance, I believe Origin's and Hotmail's URLs change, however Steam's URL is always that short URL. I had thought that it might be an issue with https, however global autotype works with another https site login (IFTTT: https://ifttt.com/login).
Does anyone know what is causing global autotype to not work, and how to fix it? I appreciate any help.

All of these sites work with global auto-type. Since KeePass works by matching the Window Title (browser tab title), KeePass entry titles that match are (don't use space or wild cards):
For the stem site use the entry title: Steam
For the EA site use the entry title: Log In
For the live site use the entry title: Sign In
To use entry Title matching you must have checked "An entry matches if its title is contained in the target window title" in Tools>Options>Advanced(tab)>Auto-Type(section)
Global Auto-Type should work for all three sites should work if configured as described above.
The EA & live sites have generic Window Titles, so it is preferable to create Custom Auto-Type sequences. To create a custom auto-type, open the website login page, then edit the KeePass entry and select the Auto-Type tab. Press the Add button. Select the relevant Target window from the dropdown list and trim the Target Window Title as needed, adding the Wild card '*' to the each end of the string that you trim. Use the default keystroke entry unless there is a need to modify it. Press OK until you have exited the Edit Entry dialog.
Once these custom auto-type sequences have been defined you can change the Entry Title to something more descriptive like 'EA Login' or 'Hotmail login'.
The live and EA auto-type sequences should work once you have completed these steps.

Certain sites do not want to work with the global autotype, with no discernible pattern. The three that aren't working for me are:
Steam's Webpage
EA Origin's Webpage
Hotmail
