<<<Right, but I'm using KeePass 1.16 on a German system, and umlauts are being displayed perfectly fine.
<<<My guess is that you've imported your passwords somehow, and here the file encoding was incorrect.

Yes, that is a good thought, that might be the point, I have imported them from Firefox, so may be I have set the wrong options.
And may be I should use KeePass 2.x nevertheless, but I do not know what the difference is actually, respectively the advantages.

<<<<KeePass 1.x is an ANSI application. For Unicode support, try KeePass 2.x.
<<<German umlauts are below 255 in the ANSI table, so KeePass 1.x doesn't have any problems with them either. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am not quite sure, how to understand this, so both versions work with umlauts, I guess.
Many thanks for your help, nice greetings, Dirk

The German umlauts (ä, Ä, Ö, ö etc.) are displayed incorrectly e.g. "Höfe", instead of "Höfe".
How can I correct it?
Nice greetings, Dirk
V1 or V2?
V2 is Unicode so it should be OK.
cheers, Paul
Thanks, Paul,
I have KeePass-1.15 at the moment. The umlauts are not displayed correctly.
Nice greetings, Dirk
