The German umlauts (ä, Ä, Ö, ö etc.) are displayed incorrectly e.g. "Höfe", instead of "Höfe".

    How can I correct it?

    Nice greetings, Dirk

      V1 or V2?
V2 is Unicode so it should be OK.

      cheers, Paul

        Thanks, Paul,

I have KeePass-1.15 at the moment. The umlauts are not displayed correctly.

        Nice greetings, Dirk

German umlauts are below 255 in the ANSI table, so KeePass 1.x doesn't have any problems with them either.

Right, but I'm using KeePass 1.16 on a German system, and umlauts are being displayed perfectly fine.

My guess is that you've imported your passwords somehow, and here the file encoding was incorrect.

Yes, that is a good thought, that might be the point, I have imported them from Firefox, so may be I have set the wrong options.

And may be I should use KeePass 2.x nevertheless, but I do not know what the difference is actually, respectively the advantages.

<<<<KeePass 1.x is an ANSI application. For Unicode support, try KeePass 2.x.

I am not quite sure, how to understand this, so both versions work with umlauts, I guess.

Many thanks for your help, nice greetings, Dirk
