Downloaded KPScript.exe plugin 2.35 from keepass.info and installed into /usr/lib/keepass2 alongside KeePass.exe (along with KPScript.exe.config). KeePass iteself is version 2.25. When running, I get:

That got past that issue. 2.25 is the highest packaged keepass2 from the Linux Mint repositories, so I just took the 2.35 KeePass.exe and KeePass.exe.config from the portable .zip file from keepass.info. I hope there was no real porting involved in packaging keepass2 for Mint, just simply packaging it up.

However /usr/bin/cli KeePass.exe works just fine. Any ideas?

Try matched versions of KeePass and Kpscript, e.g. both 2.35.

The point of mono is to allow Windows apps to run without modification, so all should be well.
