Are you sure you running KeePass (a native Windows program) and not one of the Contributed/Unofficial KeePass Ports. If you are using one of the ports you need to go to the website for the port to obtain the latest version.

KeePassX is a third party port of KeePass. It hasn't been updated in several years. KeePassXC is a community port of KeePassX that is actively developed. You may also want to explorer other ports that are file compatible with KeePass. Support for whichever port you choose is provided by respective developer (not KeePass).

You can use KeeWeb in your browser to access your passwords until you sort out which program you are running.
