I'm using Truecrypt and storing the password database on my encrypted partition. I therefore find it cumbersome to have to type in a password. It would be nice if the developers made it an option to NOT encrypt the database.

A KeePass database will open without displaying a user prompt if the password and/or key file is passed to KeePass using the command line switches: -pw: or -keyfile:. Usage Examples are shown in the KeePass Command Line documentation.

These are insecure configurations because the master password is in the clear and a key file (if any) is stored with the database.

As the KeePass database is very secure - assuming you have a good password - you should leave KeePass unencrypted and use it to open TrueCrypt.

That again means I have to type in two passwords instead of one.

There's also an item in the FAQ:

    Best regards,
    Dominik
