I have much to learn re computers. I installed KeePass, to have a good look at it, & made the mistake of only using a very weak "Master Password", not realizing this would be permanent. From what I understand it is not possible to change it, so is it possible to cancel an account & open a new one, in which I can select a strong "Master Password". I tried uninstalling KeePass completely from my computer & reinstalling, but that was unsuccessful, I had to continue to use the existing weak "Master Password".

Is there anyway for me to cancel or remove the account I have established & start with a new account on this computer & use a much stronger "Master Password", or am I stuck with this particular install & the weak "Master Password", I used.

If this is very easy & should be obvious to most people, I apologize, for my lack of experience. Any help would be very much appreciated, so I can use what is obviously an excellent program, securely.

    Thanks In Anticipation,

    Hi,

You can change the master password on your database to something else if you prefer.

First, open your database using your weak password. Once the database is open, go to File -> Change Master Key.

Type in your new password here and confirm. If you are using Keepass version 2, don' t use the "Windows Account" option.

Click ok and then save your database to apply the new settings. Remember your new password because if you forget it, you won't be able to open your database anymore.

    Hope this helps.
