As of today, I cannot log into my Keepass software. I keep my passwords on a USB stick, and the version I have is 1.32. The issue is that when I try to copy and paste my password, which I have been doing successfully for many years now, nothing is happening. The field that I am trying to paste into remains blank. I do not know why this is happening. Has anybody any ideas why this is so?

I have been thinking back to when this actually happened. What I do remember is that I left the database open. When I clicked on the USB stick to eject, I had forgotten to close my Keepass file. When I try to login to my file, it says at the top 'Open Database - My-passwords.kdb". (I have attached a screenshor of me trying to login to my password database).
Do you know how I could close the database? I have access to the file, but I cannot copy and paste from it.
I have lost patience with this. All I am trying to do is get the software to copy and paste, only that. The passwords are all there. I will just have to download everything again,

It seems unlikely that it's a KeePass issue, KeePass either works or doesn't.
Can you paste into Notepad?
From Notepad to KeePass?
From Notepad to your browser?

Thank you all for your replies. Sadly, I have still got the same problem. Keepass is keeping my passwords safe, but it is not doing any more. When I try to copy and paste a username or password, the software is not allowing me to do this. Sending it to any software, like Notepad, similarly does not work. Earlier today, I deleted all my backups, and thought maybe it would work if I started again. I still have the same problem. The only thing I can think is perhaps the file is opened as READ ONLY.
But how can I convert the database of passwords to be in NORMAL mode again? Any ideas most welcome,

Phew! What a relief! Finally, I have somehow managed to get the Keepass file copying and pasting. I altered the Tools, Options, then Advanced tab. I then changed 2 options. 1) I clicked on the option to "Show full path in the title bar". 2) I unchecked the option to Clear Clipboard When Closing/Locking the database. Both of these options are found under the Advanced group,

Maybe you were locking the database immediately after copying the password, but before you pasted it?
Have you tried drag n drop or Auto-Type? http://www.keepass.info/help/base/usingpws.html

Try Auto-Type - right click, perform Auto-Type.
Also try drag n drop.
Have you changed anything on your PC recently?
cheers, Paul
p.s. make sure you backup your database in case you lose the USB stick.
Dear Paul
Thank you very much indeed for replying.

Are you able to copy the kdb file from USB drive to Computer? Do that, and then try to open the database from HDD.
