I am hoping to download keepass to help me with the security and password management of my computer data. However, having read the info on keepass I feel a bit overwhelmed as I am not at all computer savey as most of this info goes over my head.
Question. What would happen if i forget my main password to allow me to use keepass.
Question. Will there be an end to support for keepass in the future.
Thanks in anticipation

You would be permanently locked out of your database if you forgot your database master password. However, there is no reason you can't write down your database master password and store it a secure and safe location. You should also regularly backup your pasword database.

KeePass is actively developed. Historically, several updates have been issued each year and a major update is scheduled for the next version, but not so major that your should wait for it. Few products have an infinite life. Even if the developer stopped development, the current version of KeePass would still work on the current Windows operating system, and data can be exported if necessary.
While some of the advanced features of KeePass involve a learning curve (e.g. auto-type) the program is a secure repository for usernames and passwords that can be used via drag & drop, or copy and paste.

First timers IME miss the ease with which KeePass can be used. Often they edit an entry to copy data which is almost never required.
Data can be copied by right clicking on an entry, or even better, drag n drop from KeePass into the target application. If you need data from the Notes field you can highlight and copy it from the "entry view" when you select the required entry. I find this is easier if you select View > Window Layout > Side by Side.
