    Hello community,

I'm using many Keepass databases with Nextcloud and Webdav every day, but it is very complicated to manage the databases without being able to set favorites. Yes, I've read Paul's unqualified comment in 2006, "KeePass is for sensitive information, not your pr0n bookmarks," but honestly that's a very unprofessional statement and absolutely no good argument. Even if you know where the database is, you still need the master password to access the content. What should be wrong with creating favorites??

Please consider the usability for the users. Even if you only have 3 databases, you do not always want to access the database via the file path.

    Greetings,

Who said we had to be professional? Free app, volunteer support...
    :)

And that thread was not specifically about multiple databases.

You can add database opening via triggers and use Tags to search / list.

    cheers, Paul

Take a look at the KeeAutoExec plug. It makes managing multiple databases easier. You could specify a limited list of databases that you use regularly.

If that is not suitable please explain how you expect favorites to work for you.

@Paul: KeePass may not be commercial, but there is no doubt that the software is very professional. Please don't get me wrong because I am very happy with KeePass. It's just this one point with the favorites (function -> add this to favorites list).

@wellread1: The KeeAutoExec plugin is not useful in my case, because I need all my databases, but not all every day. To open always all databases, it isn't good for the overview.

My idea is just to add/remove a connected database to a list like in my example... when this feature don't should be a standard in KeePass, then maybe you can offer it as a plugin. So the user can decide, if it's useful or not.

KeeAutoExec doesn't have to launch the databases automatically.

Each non-expired entry in this group corresponds to a database that should be opened automatically

Paul: I don't know where you got that quote, but when I configured KeeAutoExec, I added a custom string called "Enabled" and set it to "False". (I never tried playing with the expiration dates.) Now that I'm looking, I can't find any documentation either way.

I couldn't find the custom "Enabled", but I did find the expired bit, in the read me file that comes with KeeAutoExec 2.4.

Now that I'm looking I've found both in one line.

Disabling entries. If you want to disable an entry in the "AutoOpen" group (such that KeeAutoExec does not automatically open it), you can mark the entry as expired. Alternatively, you can add a custom entry string "Enabled" with the value "False" (without the quotes).

    cheers, Paul

@t_bugreporter the expired entry behavior is described in the 'KeeAutoExec_Readme.html' documentation distributed with the plugin. Search expired.

@fanatsievogel expired entries in the auto-open group don't open automatically but are added to a File>KeeAutoExec (Open) menu item that you can use to open these less used databases.
