I've just started using KeePass (v2.53). I'm running the PortableApps version on Windows 10 and I notice that, although the FAQ (at https://keepass.info/help/base/faq_tech.html#guidark) clearly says otherwise, KeePass is absolutely NOT supporting Dark Mode:
I have both the Windows and App modes set to dark, but KeePass is not honoring either setting. For any who don't know, those settings are easily accessible from the registry as
They are DWORD values and when set to 1, then Light Mode is selected. When 0, then Dark Mode is selected. I don't understand why this is difficult, but hopefully the developer(s) will either update the documentation that falsely promises dark mode support (and advertise only "high contrast theme" support) or start using the appropriate settings.
Finally, here are few couple links to reference material I used to learn about supporting dark mode:
Try the plugin KeeTheme and you get Dark mode.
Works fine here.
There is no need for a portable apps version of KeePass.
The portable version does it without special software around.
Windows 11 Home x64 Version 22H2 (OS Build 22621.1194)
KeePass 2.53
KeeTheme 0.10.2.0

Could you explain that comment? I explicitly stated that I'm using the portable version of keepass, and it most emphatically does not support dark mode -- at least not by itself "without special software around."

I mean with its plugins of course.
I have a portable KeePass and it would be almost useless without plugins.
If you call plugins as software around it we have a different understanding.

To be honest the dark KeeTheme is kind of a workaround. It's not flashy in general, but some bad contrasts (especially checkboxes!), leftovers which have old grey system colors (no matter what you specified in your OS), other plugins cannot really make use of it and are half dark half bright, etc
I use it, but it's far from ideal or properly integrated.

I think a native dark mode option without any necessary of plugins would be good. This is what I would expect from a modern program in this day and age.

Has dark mode ever been incorporated into the recent updates? Or should we install KeeTheme?
Use the native support.

This is becoming a real point of not meeting 'Accessibility'.
The interface really could do with a more modern refresh.
