I am running latest version of KeePass on Windows 8.1 Update 1 Professional x64.

I have the following options set:

    Integration
[x] Run KeePass at Windows startup (current user)

    Advanced
[x] Remember and automatically open last used database at startup
    [x] Limit to single instance
[x] Check for updates at KeePass startup
    [x] Start minimized and locked

I have the following two issues with KeePass.

    1. If I start typing into any other window before KeePass launches it steals keyboard focus upon launch.

    2. If I start fullscreen application before KeePass launches it cancels the fullscreen mode and returns me to the desktop upon launch.

Both of those issues are very annoying, please fix.

    On my W8.1 box.

    1. How long does your PC take to start up? I don't have a chance to fire something up and start typing before KeePass is loaded.
    2. This doesn't happen when my PC is running so I can't see it doing the same at start up. Does it happen if you start KeePass when the PC is running?

    cheers, Paul

    Hi Paul,

My PC is Win8.1 in installed in UEFI mode with CSM disabled and even video adapter has UEFI ROM which enables hardware fast boot option of my motherboard so it starts really fast (a few seconds) and I can work immediately after I login.

    Configuration is here:

This happens only during startup, I have not observed it if I exit and re-launch the program.

Then it is likely to be some oddity of Windows fast boot, not KeePass.

Fast boot option is in BIOS, not in Windows and it dramatically reduces the boot time (time it takes between pressing power button until I get login screen) so I don't see what could it possibly have to do with this.

Are you telling me that you cannot manage to launch anything immediately after logging in, but before all startup programs load? Not even Notepad?

I wouldn't go that far. But it is possible that something in Microsoft .NET that KeePass depends on, is not ready when KeePass starts up after a fast boot.

Fast boot caches some of the Windows components so it is a Windows start up issue.

So, this somehow magically affects only KeyPass, and not other programs?
