KeePass failed to open a database. This can happen if KeePass can’t find its configuration file or the option Remember and automatically open last used database on startup isn’t checked.

Use File>Open>Open File... to browse to your password database and open it if you know its location. Alternatively, use File>Open Recent. The recently opened list will appear. Select your password database from the list. At the prompt, enter the database master key, your database will open.

If your password database is not in the Open Recent list, use File>Open>Find Files... to search for your database in all of your attached drives. A dialog will appear. Choose one of the two options:

    • The Quick option (default) searches all attached drives for files with a KeePass database extension. This option is the fastest.

    • The Normal option inspects each file's contents as it searches all attached drives. This option takes much longer to complete, but it will find all KeePass password databases regardless of file extension.

You can open any database in the results list by clicking on it. If there is more than one database hit, I recommend you print or export the list so you don’t have to re-run the Find Files operation to try each database.

That is the standard KeePass screen when a database is not loaded.
Select File > Open > Open File
Browse to your database and open it.

    cheers, Paul

p.s. you can take a screenshot with Windows Snipping Tool instead of your phone.
p.p.s Make sure you know where your database file is located and make at least one backup of it. See the Backup Wiki for details.

Search for all of the .kbdx files on your computer. You can usually open KeePass by "opening" the .kbdx file.

I suggest synchronizing your database with one or more USB drives. Then synchronize the USB drive database with your other computer.

Do not rely on USB (Flash) drives as they can be unreliable / lost / stolen. Make sure you have a reliable backup elsewhere first.

    cheers, Paul
