Auto-Type popup doesn't remember which columns to show
A lightweight and easy-to-use password manager

Hi!
I've noted that the Auto-Type pop-up window doesn't remember which columns are marked for showing, and it reverts to the default set of values (Title, User Name, Password, URL, Sequence) every time KeePass is run.
I've checked Keepass.config.xml and I don't see where this information is stored, so I can't fix this myself.
Am I doing something wrong when selecting which columns to show? Is this the intended behaviour? If so, the password field should be hidden with asterisks, IMHO. Not a great deal, as the popup is visible for a very limited amount of time, but still.
Thanks a lot for KeePass, BTW :))
The pop-up column list is saved in the node shown below - no node = standard columns. If it is not saving you may have an enforced config file with this node set.

If you have the password field showing than you must want to view the password, otherwise there would be no point showing that column.

Not necessarily; maybe you just want something to click on for dragging and dropping the password into other windows - something not involving the right-click menu.
You can d&d from the main window, the Auto-Type pop-up is only for Auto-Typing.

Sorry for the delay in replying to this thread, I couldn't do it before. First of all, thanks A LOT for your fast response, @Paul.
Second, I didn't have an enforced config file, but for some reason that particular node was not being saved. I edited the XML by hand, removed the node, started the program, modified the visible colums, and then exited and it worked, it saved the config correctly. Thanks a lot, Paul, I couldn't find the node I had to change.
Third, I have to agree with Paul and not with T.Bug Reporter. Yes, I can think of scenarios where showing the column for the password obfuscated will work, for example when you want to autotype in Amazon and you fill both user and password as the sequence, but the web page only asked for the password, not even allowing you to enter the user (Amazon does that from time to time). Right now the only solution is to close auto-type, go to the main window, double click the password column and paste. Cumbersome, when the auto-type window was already open and ready.
This said, Paul is right, you can do that from the main window too, and technically what I just described is not exactly auto typing. In any case, I can live with that.
Thanks Paul for helping, thank T.Bug Reporter for your insights about auto typing :)
When I wrote that, I totally missed that this was about the Auto-Type feature (which I never use), so any insights you might have gotten from my comment were on your own. 😳
Well, at any rate, you made me think of some use cases that somewhat justfied the password column to be obfuscated, so thanks anyway, T.Bug! :-)
