I think that the current link reddish color looks good. I would only use a blue link color if the overall theme was using other blue colors. I don't think colors used would confuse anyone. >From a design perspective, the single biggest thing that would make this page look better would be to remove the "Article Discussion View source History" tabs from the top of the page and put them somewhere else, where they are there for experts and the people involved in the page, but not present for people who are just casually looking at the page. Those kind of links put off the casual user, who generally doesn't feel they are relavent to them. Either hidding those things by default, or putting them in the lower right until someone starts to access them. Perhaps having a button that enables them on/off. I'm mainly thinking in terms of the niceness and professionalism of the presentation. The rest of the page looks fairly good, but those tabs are very visually distracting and confusing to casual websurfers.
