[K3d-development] ConnectVertices not smart enough to make an edge from any two selected vertices

ConnectVertices works within a face, but if I have an L shaped object and  
want to add a diagonal by selecting the top and rightmost vertices I don't  
get an edge between them after the modifier is applied.
