All of a sudden I am unable to burn DVD's. Granted, I use Gentoo and have done quite a bit of updating since the last time I tried... I am running 2.6.13-gentoo-r3 with the same kernel config I've used since 2.6.9 and has always worked quite well for me. Also using the same DVD+R's (sony). Debug output is as follows: Devices ----------------------- LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1673S JS05 (/dev/hdd, ) at /mnt/dvdrw [CD-R; CD-RW; CD-ROM; DVD-ROM; DVD-R; DVD-RW; DVD+R; DVD+RW] [DVD-ROM; DVD-R Sequential; DVD-RW Restricted Overwrite; DVD-RW Sequential; DVD+RW; DVD+R; DVD+R Double Layer; CD-ROM; CD-R; CD-RW] [SAO; TAO; RAW; SAO/R16; RAW/R96P; RAW/R96R] UNKNOWN 52X32COMBO 104G (/dev/hdc, ) at /mnt/cdrom [CD-R; CD-RW; CD-ROM; DVD-ROM] [DVD-ROM; CD-ROM; CD-R; CD-RW] [SAO; TAO; RAW; SAO/R16; RAW/R96P; RAW/R96R] System ----------------------- K3b Version: 0.11.24 KDE Version: 3.4.2 QT Version: 3.3.4 Kernel: 2.6.13-gentoo-r3 growisofs ----------------------- Using MELLON_COLLIE_AND_THE_INFINI000 for Smashing Pumpkins/Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness (Disc 2) (Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness (Disc 1)) /dev/hdd: "Current Write Speed" is 6.1x1385KBps. :-( unable to WRITE@LBA=0h: Input/output error :-( write failed: Input/output error growisofs comand: ----------------------- /usr/bin/growisofs -Z /dev/hdd -use-the-force-luke=notray -use-the-force-luke=tty -use-the-force-luke=dao -dvd-compat -speed=2 -gui -graft-points -volid K3b data project -volset -appid K3B THE CD KREATOR VERSION 0.11.24 (C) 2003 SEBASTIAN TRUEG AND THE K3B TEAM -publisher -preparer K3b - Version 0.11.24 -sysid LINUX -volset-size 1 -volset-seqno 1 -sort /tmp/kde-sean/k3bEmPUPa.tmp -rational-rock -hide-list /tmp/kde-sean/k3b1VpRnc.tmp -full-iso9660-filenames -iso-level 2 -path-list /tmp/kde-sean/k3buYAaXa.tmp I am using a LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1673S drive. I was trying to use K3B-12.4.x and when that failed I downgraded to 11.24. It basically spins the disk up 3 or 4x, but never starts writing before it errors out. Let me know if there is anything else you need to know. You can see my lspci -v output here: http://sfsullivan.homelinux.org/lspci.html. That site contains pretty much ALL the specs on my system. Any help is appreciated :~) -Sean |
