Hi, I'm using k3b-0.11.4-1.xcyb.rpm on Fedora 1. When ripping some CDs (to WAV), K3B will crash, and the KDE crash manager will come up. There are no messages when I start from the console. I select the drive, and it recognizes the CD, and finds the CDDB entries. I press the rip button, and the status says it is trying to read the table of contents, then crash. I am currently using an older Goldstar 32X CD-ROM, but have seen this on differant drives as well (a Philips CRD-mumble CD-RW), with the same effect. These same CDs are rippable on my Windoze box using Nero (compared to K3B, Nero really sucks!). It may be the underlying CD ripping code that is the problem, but I'm not sure how to check. What can I do to diagnose? I can supply a backtrace, or run other test procedure, or debug version of K3B if that will help. Thanks, --rick P.S. Would really like to get this working, as K3B is otherwise far better than any of the crap CD apps on Windoze. |
