With the exception of the buffer type, test_types now passes after I converted PyLong to a new-style class. On another similar topic, what should we do about methods in __builtin__ which no longer have a really purpose such as: int$ long$ float$ since those are now new-style types. They aren't used from Jython but could be used by those compiling against Jython in Java. I don't like deprecated methods since in my experience they are rarely, if ever, removed so I'm for removing them. This decision would be made easier if we knew how many people were using the Java API as opposed to the Jython API. thanks, brian |
