I'm working with some code now that frequently creates Lists for interoperability with Java. When I have to use the List in Jython I often explicitly convert to a list for convenience. It would be great not to have to do this, it's really a pain. Also if lists were Lists they would play well with Velocity which would be a big bonus. What about dicts implementing Map also?
