Hello Mark Would be nice to see BOA as an option. Even if other IDE's maybe a bit mor stable, it seem to be a very promising project. --- Flynt Mark Brady wrote: > > Hello, > I have been working on a new Jython IDE but I need answers to some questions. I have a basic editor up and running based on the jEdit text area component but it's buggy and I'm moving to the standard swing text area + editing kits. However while I am refactoring the code I also want to redo the whole user interface. At the moment the IDE looks and acts just like a lightweight version of jext or jedit but I want to make it more of an IDE. What IDE design do people prefer: IDLE, Komodo, Blackadder, WING or BOA? Version 1.0 of my IDE will not support a GUI builder but will have a plugin system that may be used to plug in a GUI builder in the future. The IDE could be a good example of how Jython can be used to build more than just simple scripts so all suggestions would be a great help. > > On a completely separate note anyone interested in python cryptography should subscribe to the mailing list at ?http://listserv.surfnet.nl/archives/python-crypto.html?. The group are developing a pycrypto module for encryption with a driver plugin system. I plan to develop a JCE driver so that Jython scripts can use the same pycrypto interfaces as Cpython. > > Final thing, anyone missing ZODB from Cpython should take a look at XL2 at ?http://www.xl2.net/?. It?s a great simple to use GPL Java Object database. It?s still a bit raw but it?s moving to the more liberal LGPL and getting better all the time. > > Anyway any suggestions about the IDE would be a great help, > Mark Brady. > > _______________________________________________ > Jython-users mailing list > Jyt...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/jython-users |
