Hi, I successfully downloaded the Jython-21.class file from SourceForge.net repository, but I was not able to install the program following the installation instructions. I am running Windows95 and I have Java2 SDK 1.2 installed on my machine. I've tried to install from the directory containing the Jython-21 file with the command "java Jython-21" (omitting quotes) and I am getting the message 'Exception in thread "main" Java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: jython-21' I then tried to extract the zip archive using WinRAR and PowerZip and that did not work. The first utility did not like multi file archive, the second could not locate the zip file. Then I've tried to spell out the CLASSPATH with the command "java -cp . Jython-21", but that only produced the curious message: try path D:\Jython\ java.util.zip.ZipException: error in opening zip file at java.util.zip.ZipFile.open(Native Method) at java.util.zip.ZipFile.<init>(ZipFile.java:62) at java.util.zip.ZipFile.<init>(ZipFile.java:77) at jython-21.openArchive.(Install.java, Compiled Code) at jython-21.<init>(Install.java:345) can not open archive can not read from archive can not load class net.sourceforge.liftoff.installer.source.ResURLFactory :java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: net.sourceforge.liftoff.installer.source.ResURLFactory The exceptions suggest that the archive is not accessible ergo the required 'main' block and classes is amiss. What should I do next? Please send any suggestions to ten...@ya... Sincerely, Joe Schiller |
