Hello devs, I work for a small custom application corporation which sells very = specialised software e.i. Warehousing Applications, Import/Export (CB) = Systems, General Ledger Software and a list of other very dry littles. = In any case we are looking to port our applications to windows and = having come from a C/Java background myself I am inclined to use a Java = based solution. For a while now I have been following the development = of Jython with much anticipation and well, I have to know, in your = opinion can Jython handle the following. If I code the Client/Server in Jython, under optimal (meaning my code = isn't crap) conditions can I expect resonable memory performance with = 50+ client connected. or. Will a Jython implemented server have problems = handling the resources for 50+ clients due to some inherant architecture = scheme, an example would be Visual Basic, it's great for small = applications but when it comes to large business applications your up a = creek without a paddle. Also the application requires heavy database = access, 40+ tables with nearly a half million records, and to top it = off, I might have to tie this monster into a Legacy System (which runs = on an AS400). Not to mention the clients want all the bells and = whistles afforded to Java. My primary concern is memory usage and stability (these people don't = like it when their payables don't process correctly) ;P Thanks in advance, Derek P.S. I forgot to mention, the actual program itself is comprised of = about 100-150 screens (yeesh) and Python scripting is looking really = really appealing... |
