If it isn't closed then it probably isn't in Jython already, or at
least the code hasn't been fully evaluated.    The preferred approach
would be to get such fixes submitted as patches, since those are
easier to evaluate and apply, which may be part of the reason that
those fixes are lingering in comments.  Could you be more specific
about which bug(s) ?
